A.1. Draw a character sketch of Oberon as an enemy of his wife.

Ans- Oberon is the king of fairies. He is initially angry with his wife, Titania, because she refuses to give up the control of the Indian boy. Oberon becomes jealous and there is a fight between him and Titania. He is determined to get the boy and he makes one plan. He sends Puck to obtain the love-potion that will make Titania fall in love with the first person she sees. He wants to teach her lesson. But finally he learnt his mistake and understands the the path of love is not easy. He removes Titania from under the spell.

A 2. Comment on the loving pair of Lysander and Hermia from the point of view of developing their characters sketch.

Ans- Lysander and Hermia loves each other and wants to marry but Hermia's father, Egeus, wants her to marry Demetrius, and, according to Athenian law, the father has the right to decide who his daughter marries. So, the Athenian Duke Theseus gives her three alternatives to marry Demetrius or become a nun or to suffer a death sentence. As Lysander and Hermia cannot live without each other, and decided to run away to the forest and marry. Hermia reveals her secret plan to her dear friend Helena. Now Hermia ,Lyasander Helena and Demetrius four of them are now in forest. Now the twist of the story happens in forest. The king of Oberon orders Puck to bring the magic portion 'love in idolness' the juice of which if poured on the eyelids of a sleeping person, makes him or her fall madly in love with the first person he or she sees after waking up. Due to Puck's mistake, Lysander false in love with Helena. This leads to his niglect and humiliation of Hermia, which shocks her. She cannot understand or believe this, and quarrels with her childhood friend Helena, accusing her of stealing Lysander's love She feels inferior because she is a short and Helena is tall.
