Ans- Because he was inside the hide for long eight and half hour taking down the notes on birds of region (avifauna). He had finished his day at that waterhole and was physically exhausted so stretched out to his heart's content.
ii. Even the small member of langur's family were giving alarming call.....
Ans- Because langur's were petrified by the presence of a predator like a tiger or leopard nearby. Langur is the most reliable animal in giving a clue of the topmost predator in the junglet.The Leopard was out of den in search of its prey and was moving slowly.

Explain the statement in about 50 words in the light of the extract I was alone here like a fox.
Ans- In the context of the extract it means after watching birds for whole day in the evening when the narrator Kiran purandare started to walk Pitezari from the hide amidst Teakwood and Moha trees by making minimal sound very cautiously and with alert, he was appearing for his act of walking was looking foolish but actually he was walking shrewdly and cunningly like a fox.

Explain : I was alone here like a fox.
Ans- Foxes are solitary animals. They move around and hunt alone. They are passionate and loyal. In the same way, the narrator was alone. He was also passionate and loyal towards his hobby. He had come to the forest alone to do his research and now he was going back to the village all alone. Hence he compares himself to a fox.

The extract is about Kiran Purandare's experience in the jungle of Umbarzara. Some other time you might have visited some sanctuary near your locality. Write your experience of visit to sanctury in about 50 words.
Ans- Recently with my family members I visited karnala Bird sanctuary which is on the outskirts of Mumbai near Panvel.The place was full of variety of birds which I generally don't see in the concrete jungle of Mumbai. I could see kingfisher, Cuckoo, woodpecker and weaver bird and so on. Along with this I saw some insects on trees and in soil around me. The weather was pleasant and I enjoyed greenery and flowing streams.
